Nebraska Defensive Coordinator Headed to Sunshine State
Carl Pelini, 46, comes to Florida Atlantic University after four years as the defensive coordinator at Nebraska. His brother, Bo, the Huskers’ head coach, hired him in 2008. Under Pelini, Nebraska’s defense was No. 1 in the country in 2009, but dropped to No. 8 in 2010. This season the Huskers were 9-3 (5-3 Big Ten), ranked 20th in the nation by AP and ranked 36th in defense, allowing 350.7 yards per game. Nebraska allowed just under 162 rushing yards/game and yielded just over 188 passing yards/game. Carl Pelini will not coach in the Capital One Bowl versus South Carolina on January 2nd.
